Everyone can appreciate how a fit and trim body makes a person look more attractive. As we get older this is most often achieved through exercise and good nutrition.
When we are young the healthy looking body seems natural and doesn’t take much or any effort to maintain but as work and other pressures mount our lives often become more sedentary and the muscle tone diminishes.
It is the tone of our muscles and that give us the good body shape. Obviously this can be masked by excess fat so diet is important. A healthy well balanced diet provides all the nutrition our bodies need and we can throw away all those supplements that countless organizations encourage us to buy.
So what do we need?
· Good nutrition, that is protein and carbohydrates and not too much of either, an excess of carbs is just as bad as an excess of protein. If you are trying to build muscle mass you need a higher protein diet.
· An exercise program to help us use the calories we take in so that we do not build large fat reserves and to keep our muscles well toned.
Almost everyone agrees that exercise is good for the muscle tone and lots of us are prepared to put an exercise program in place. We enjoy seeing a good muscle tone in our arms and legs, midsection, back, but while we are doing that nearly all of us forget about the face.
All the movements we get from our face, our expressions, opening and closing our eyes and mouths involves the action of muscles and as we get older these muscles, just like the rest of them, need to be exercised if we want them to be firmer and well defined.
Exercise helps to build and tone the facial muscles, this in turn helps to reduce wrinkles. This exercise also increases the production of collagen and elastin. Like any muscle building program results take time. You don’t go to the gym for one session of weight training and return home as Mr/Mrs Universe, you expect to have to put in some consistent effort over a period of time. The same is true for your facial muscles.
Exercising your facial muscles for 5 to 10 minutes per day can make a huge difference and make you feel and look younger. For anyone considering medical intervention to remove facial wrinkles you should consider and try facial muscle exercises.
I recommend a book by Reinhold Benz available from Amazon http://tinyurl.com/3cjuko or the new dvd on face building also from Amazon http://tinyurl.com/3b37nt
Healthy muscle tone, good diet and exercise are ways you can enhance your natural beauty.
