Eight Ways To Keep Your Eyes Healthy

Have you treated your eyes well? People say, “Our Eyes are Our Windows to the World.” That is really true. Without sight we can’t see this beautiful world.

Therefore, since your eyes are most important, it’s your responsibility to take care of them.

You may have known that eyes play almost 80 percent of human senses because all activities are always involving the eyes. To maintain their health you must take the following actions.

Before we come to what you should do to treat your eyes, let us see what is included in the eyes.

For young people, everything about the eyes still seems normal. However, as soon as one gets older, some cannot cope with the aging process of the body.

Anatomically and physiologically changes have influenced eyes condition. The Pupil is getting smaller, eyesight becomes blurs and some may need a pair of glasses to help their activities.

If you are careless, you might have early eyesight problems, such as Cataracts, and Macular Degeneration.

That’s why you need to read these tips to find out what should you do to your eyes.

1. Eat fruit and vegetables - Foods contain Vitamin A, E, C, and other substance such as iron that are good for eyes. These foods make healthy eyes. Include in this category are carrots, spinach, papaya; mangoes, avocado, broccoli, sweet potatoes etc.

2. Keep doing body exercise - With routine exercise your body will be fit and it can improve your blood circulation and oxygen that is needed for eyes performance.

3. Read at a suitable distance - Don’t read very close to what you read, make a distance at least 30 cm. Make sure you have adequate light. Don’t push your eyes reading in the dark as this will lessen your eyesight.

4. Don’t rub your eyes - If your eyes itchy, don’t rub them. Instead just blink your eyelids, as in this you are protecting your eyes.

5. Use sunglasses - If you are going out in the middle of bright day when sun shine very strong; protect your eyes from sunrays. Direct sunrays cause heavy damage to eyes.

6. Pour cold water - After watching television or working on your computer for some times, try to pour cold water onto your eyes to improve your blood circulation on eyes area.

7. Exercising your eyes - Try to look and focus on far objects after your long hours work in front of your computer. Look as far as you can and blink your eyes many times.

8. Take a rest - Once you finish with your work, and your eyes have been working so hard, try to take enough rest. This will freshen the eyes and they will work more efficiently once you have adequate rest.
